Quinoa - A Great Sub For Rice

First of all, Happy New Year! There is this overwhelming feeling that 2018 is going to be an amazing year! We have so many things up our sleeves and we cant wait to share them with you! But first, we want to introduce you to Quinoa - and we will tell you why later.

Quinoa, pronounced "keen-wa" is a great substitute for starchy carbohydrates such as rice. If you are a rice lover like many others, we really encourage you to throw out that white rice and place it with this whole very healthy grain!

What exactly is it? It is a seed. It is a seed that is high in fiber, lowers cholesterol, a great source of iron and, it is gluten free.

Quinoa is also super easy to cook; you cook it exactly how you would cook rice or couscous. We believe a salad is the best way to eat your Quinoa and you can add just about any vegetable or herb to it.

In Kampala, Quinoa is sold in all the Healthy U stores, Shoprite and Millennium Supermarket.

Lastly, we are not just saying this, studies have shown that Quinoa is one of the healthiest, most nutritious food on the planet! And because of this we just had to make sure it was added to our 2018 menu!

Our Quinoa Salad has Quinoa, Lentils, Chickpeas, Raisins, Kale, Parsley and Mint. Remember if you are a meat lover you can always do an addition of chicken or fish at only 3,000ugx.
